I awoke to the double sounds of my alarm's beep-beep-beep and rumbling thunder from an insistent, wet snowstorm. No chance of bike commuting today. The forecast for the weekend is not great, with threatened precipitation through Sunday.
Originally this journal was a personal record of commuting by bicycle to work, and an occasional essay on commuting successfully and safely. Now retired and in no need to commute to work, I still use my bike for local errands and recreational rides, and I use this blog to advocate for alternative, renewable-energy transportation. Still riding safely too.

Cold and icy today
I woke up to a day that threatened to usurp the forecast of clear skies and 40-degree temperatures. And it pulled through. Too much ice buildup to commute today.
The forecast for the next few days is not good.

Rain and winter
Right now it's 41 degrees with rain, fairly heavy. Forecast expects rain tomorrow also. No bike today.
