On a Sunday ride of 13 January 2025 with my friend John Sickel, I fell when my bike ran over a palm husk in the bike lane of Gerald Ford Drive.
I woke with great pain in the Intensive Care Unit of Desert Regional Hospital. I had fractured six ribs and the left side of my pelvis. Plus serious abrasions on my left knee and left knuckles.
A month later I was home. I agreed with Chuck that I would forswear bicycle riding.
Now, some 21 months later, it looks like I have developed a routine of weight training every three days at my nearby Eos gym. That is, I have maintained the activity for a sixth week. And I'm now planning to add an in-between daily walk or other near-aerobic activity. Perhaps I will buy a stationary bike. A great one, I hope.
But... Fare thee well, my beloved Blue. So long, Fury. And sweet repose my good steed Forest.
